AngelaRivera How long have you worked for the County? I have worked for the County for 7 years.
What do you like most about your job? That every day is a different experience.
Why did you decide to work for the County? I wanted a career in law enforcement.
What is your most memorable accomplishment during your County career? Making the Transportation team. I hope to continue promoting in the department.
When I'm not at work you can find me...At home mostly.
What was your first job? Server at Farnesis' Restaurant
What is your favorite food? Italian Food
What is your favorite kind of music? Country
What is your favorite sports team? The Raiders
If you were to travel anywhere in the world for a dream vacation, where would it be? I would love to go back to Hawaii.
Where do you see yourself in five years? Still working for Department of Corrections, hopefully in a management position.



Chrissy Harrold How long have you worked for the County? 17 1/2 years
What do you like most about your job? Making a difference in the lives of the children of Madera County is one of the most satisfying aspects of this job.  I also enjoy the family atmosphere of this department.  Most of the employees have been here for years and we have developed long term relationships.  It is a blessing to be a part of a department that does good for the community and gives me so much pleasure in working with wonderful people.
Why did you decide to work for the County? I wanted a stable job that would help people and the Department of Child Support satisfied both those requirements.
What is your most memorable accomplishment during your County career? I don't have any one thing that stands out, but working in this department and helping children and encouraging parents to play an active role in the lives of their children is very satisfying.
When I'm not at work you can find me...Spending time with my family or occasionally at the casino!
What was your first job? My very first official job was working as a cashier at McDonalds.  At 15 1/2 years old I participated in work experience at the high school, which allowed me to receive credit for working as well as getting paid.
What is your favorite food? Meatloaf and mashed potatoes is my favorite food as long as someone else cooks it!
What is your favorite kind of music? I love all music and can't imagine life without music!  If I had to pick a favorite it would be a tie between country and rock!
What is your favorite sports team? Even though this wasn't the best year for my team, I cheer for the Washington Redskins football team.
If you were to travel anywhere in the world for a dream vacation, where would it be? The list is too long, but I have always wanted to go to Nashville, TN to see the Grand Ole Opry!
Where do you see yourself in five years? Exactly where I am at today!  Having a wonderful time with my family and friends and making a difference in the lives of children.



Christina Knudsen_ How long have you worked for the County? In June 2014, it will be 3 years.
What do you like most about your job? I enjoy working with the public.  It’s especially rewarding to hear County residents commend us on our projects and our work efforts toward providing exceptional service to our constituents.
Why did you decide to work for the County? I was first drawn to the County because of the many different types of engineering projects that I would have the opportunity to undertake involving drinking water, sewer, and flood control projects.
What is your most memorable accomplishment during your County career? The Engineering Department, in conjunction with the Bass Lake Sewer Advisory Committee, worked hard last year to educate the Bass Lake Community about the significant need for the proposed sewer system improvements.  In a landside vote, the community approved the proposed sewer projects last September during the Proposition 218 election, which can be attributed to our successful public outreach. I’m very excited about the next step of this project, which will involve the design of new and/or improved facilities.
When I'm not at work you can find me...Hiking!  I’m looking forward to another year of great hikes within the County. I’m especially looking forward to experiencing the Willow Creek and Angel Falls trails for the very first time.
What was your first job? Working as a party hostess at Camelot (now Boomer’s).
What is your favorite food? I absolutely love seafood! It’s my weakness besides chocolate.
What is your favorite kind of music? It’s hard to name just one genre because I love a wide spectrum of music.  My music collection includes jazz, indie rock, alternative, pop and even rap.
What is your favorite sports team? 
If you were to travel anywhere in the world for a dream vacation, where would it be? One day I would love to travel to Paris, France specifically to enjoy the infamous hot chocolate and experience the original La Maison du Chocolate.
Where do you see yourself in five years? In five years, I hope to have earned a Senior Engineer position here at the County.




MarkTaylor How long have you worked for the County? 24 years
What do you like most about your job? There is always something different to do with very little stress
Why did you decide to work for the County? My wife asked me to find a job close to home with benefits, we were expecting and the County was hiring.
What is your most memorable accomplishment during your County career? I helped to set up the County Smog Inspection Program at the Central Garage.
When I'm not at work you can find me...Hunting or Fishing
What was your first job? Farm Worker
What is your favorite food? Fried Chicken, mashed potatoes, and ice tea.
What is your favorite kind of music? Southern Rock and Country
What is your favorite sports team? Oakland Raiders
If you were to travel anywhere in the world for a dream vacation, where would it be? Camping and hunting at Beasore Meadows.
Where do you see yourself in five years? Hopefully happily retired.




Pat Ryals How long have you worked for the County? 30+ years
What do you like most about your job? The People
Why did you decide to work for the County? They hired me.
What is your most memorable accomplishment during your County career? Switching to a new computer system during Y2K.
When I'm not at work you can find me...At the library or shopping.
What was your first job? Walk around newspaper route with the Chowchilla paper.
What is your favorite food? Chocolate
What is your favorite kind of music? Pop or easy listening
What is your favorite sports team? Not really into sports but like to watch the Olympics.
If you were to travel anywhere in the world for a dream vacation, where would it be? Ireland, British Islands
Where do you see yourself in five years? Retired and Driving a Tractor



Shannon Webster How long have you worked for the County? 1 year 5 months
What do you like most about your job? The people I work with, and that I work in a department that directly helps the public.
Why did you decide to work for the County? I wanted to work in the public sector, in an HR/Personnel Capacity
What is your most memorable accomplishment during your County career? Just learning all of my job duties (still learning every day!) I had to pick up a lot as I went along.
When I'm not at work you can find me...At school (Fresno State) or at home with my kids.
What was your first job? I worked in the Nickelodeon Section at Great America in Santa Clara
What is your favorite food? Coffee, can that count?
What is your favorite kind of music? I love all sorts of music, but really love 80's and 90s music.
What is your favorite sports team? I am a born and bred Bay Area girl: so it is 49ers, Sharks (season ticket holder since game #1), and SF Giants
If you were to travel anywhere in the world for a dream vacation, where would it be? A water hut in The Maldives or Bora Bora
Where do you see yourself in five years? I am graduating in May (FINALLY!) , so I hope to be established within a Management level HR role, while studying for either my MBA or attending law school.



Yvette Gomez How long have you worked for the County? It will be 4 years in September.
What do you like most about your job? I enjoy the everyday challenges we have in our department. I learn something new everyday and look forward to each day to see what it may bring.
Why did you decide to work for the County? I wanted to seek newer avenues and greater challenges.
What is your most memorable accomplishment during your County career? My most memorable accomplishment was being able to be a part of our new 311/Customer Service Center.
When I'm not at work you can find me...Spending time with my family.
What was your first job? After school program, Club Yes as an Activities Assistant.
What is your favorite food? Pizza is my favorite!
What is your favorite kind of music? I love music! I enjoy listening to everything (except Country).
What is your favorite sports team? Oakland Raiders
If you were to travel anywhere in the world for a dream vacation, where would it be? Imperial.... to visit my family.
Where do you see yourself in five years? In five years, I hope to be involved with my job and helping as many people as I can. I hope to have the tools and knowledge to become the best asset to my department and the County of Madera.
